Invite your team
Add teammates, choose the right role, and understand what each role can and cannot do.
Adding a teammate
- Open Settings → Team.
- Choose Invite member.
- Enter their work email and pick a role.
- Send. They receive an email with a join link.
Invited people join your workspace directly — they do not create their own.
Which role to pick
Kognit ships five system roles. Give people the least access that lets them do their job; you can always raise it.
| Role | Intended for | Cannot do |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | The person who signed up | Full access, including billing |
| Admin | Operations lead | Billing, transferring the workspace |
| Manager | Support team lead | Manage billing or org-level settings |
| Agent | Front-line support | Change settings, manage users, see billing |
| Viewer | Stakeholders, analysts | Change anything |
Most support hires should be Agent. Reserve Admin for the one or two people who configure the product.
For the full permission matrix, see Roles and permissions.
Round-robin assignment
Once more than one person can be assigned work, new tickets are distributed between them in rotation. The rotation cursor is shared and updated atomically, so two tickets arriving in the same second still go to different agents rather than both landing on whoever sorts first.
If you would rather assign manually, leave tickets unassigned and pick them up from the queue.
Removing someone
Remove them from Settings → Team. Their tickets stay in the workspace and become unassigned — nothing is deleted with the person. Reassign their open work before removing them, or it will sit in the queue without an owner.
